The homerun.svgz is still in the /usr/share/pixmaps directory if you wish to use it instead.

Just next time just have the text read “hey moron this is a menu!” and be honest in your confidence in attracting newer users.
Personally, I neither like nor dislike the new Icon. I also prefer the panel to take up the entire length of my screen and be at the top and not the bottom. However, it is what it is, these are only defaults and easily changed by the end user.
