If you mean installing an email server, I recommend using Webmin to manage the install. You can choose from a variety of servers. Check http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/Postfix_Mail_Server for Postfix. Check http://www.tecmint.com/best-mail-transfer-agents-mta-for-linux/ to compare server options.
Do you have a domain name and static IP?
