What weather widget did you try installing ? By default there is none that we ship.
And as far as I know there are 2 widgets available.
The one that I tested it the Yahoo Weather widget which also supports now Plasma 5.
For this to work I only had to install the package qml-module-qtquick-xmllistmodel
Yes I was trying to install the Yahoo weather widget.
Your fix did the trick.
