"Watchdog did not stop!"

I reinstalled my system, and all is well except my reboots and shutdowns take well over a minute to complete.

On the reboot, I see the message “Watchdog did not stop!” flash on the screen just as it finally finishes. I’m guessing I have some service(s) that fail to shutdown in a timely fashion.

Is there a way I can track these down and correct the issue?

Thanks again

Have you run the updates on this system yet?

Here is more info on that, seems more users experience this:

The same issue is also reported here: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=31566.0;topicseen

Thanks for replies.

Yes, I installed all available updates yesterday.

I will check the other threads for more info.

I notice on shutdown I see the final message, “Failed to finalize file systems. Ignoring”. I have multiple storage drives in the machine, and I’m wondering if it is slow to dismount all of those. Any idea if that could be my problem, and if so how to correct it?
