# When move x11 to wayland

Hi,

I checked my gotten installation:

loginctl show-session $(loginctl | grep $(whoami) | awk ‘{print $1}’) -p Type  
Type=x11

and

echo $XDG\_SESSION\_TYPE  
x11

Is there a way go to wayland? I have time. Not urgent.

You can install the **plasma-workspace-wayland** package which gives you the option to start the wayland session from within the login manager.  
I would not yet recommend to use it under Netrunner 21 as it lacks some features with its older KDE Plasma base.

I found it.  
aptitude search plasma-workspace-wayland

Not yet installed. But I will wait as suposed.
