It’s your system but to give more details as possible :smiley:

uname -a result
4.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.2-2 (2017-01-12) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Does the keyboard don’t react at all? Also not on Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch to a tty? Or the magic sysreq keys (Alt+Print+K to kill the X-Server for example)

Thank you for your response!
No, it doesn’t react at all. The only one way I found to make it react so far is by restarting the system!

Very strange and hard to collect log Infos then. Do you have another pc to login from there to collect dmesg and journalctl logs from that particular pc with the dead keyboard?

Would it be possible to plug in a external USB keyboard perhaps to check if that works after waking the system up? That way we can collect some logs.

About dmesg it looks like there is too much info, so the terminal removed some information from the beginning!

If you need more info just tell how to get it

Thank you

How can I copy the full files?? (journalctl & dmesg )

journalctl will output the same I guess as dmesg.
I took a look at dmesg and besides the strange firewall (ufw) blocking some stuff I don’t see anything related to why your keyboard isn’t working.
Maybe it is some acpi problem.

I found this thread for ubuntu which suggests reinstalling all xserver-xorg-input-all package.

sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-input-all

http://askubuntu.com/questions/483416/keyboard-and-mouse-unresponsive-after-suspend#483473

Maybe it works for you too.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me

Have you read the whole linked thread and tried other solutions?

First, I reinstall xserver-xorg-input-all, but nothing happened at all!

Second, I tried this script, and the problem changed a little bit ( from the beginning was the only one way to make the keyboard react was by restarting the system, but after I added this script I could make it react by make the laptop on Suspend mode -close the laptpo’s screen and reopen it-.

Third, I did this
http://askubuntu.com/a/817999

So far, I didn’t need to restart the system, but it caused two issues
First, the touchpad doesn’t work!
Second, it is a small issue! The keboard lights are freezing (NUM LOCK\CAPS LOCK buttons) If the lights start with the system it will be open all the time!

Thanks

Have you also tried the suggestion in the comment?
http://askubuntu.com/questions/483416/keyboard-and-mouse-unresponsive-after-suspend/817999#comment1395831_817999

Thank you again!
I think the problem is my laptop is weird :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:
I followed all the comments, but every solution cause a problem!!!

So I decide to try resolve the problem by my own way, so I change the comments a little bit:

the default was like this
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= “quiet”
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
In the comments I need to change the file like this:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= “atkdb.reset i8042.nomux quiet splash”
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=“atkbd.reset=1 i8042.nomux=1 i8042.reset=1 i8042.nopnp=1 i8042.dumbkbd=1”
And I changed to be like this

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="atkdb.reset i8042.nomux quiet splash"
# If you change this file, run ‘update-grub’ afterwards to update

/boot/grub/grub.cfg.

For full documentation of the options in this file, see:

info -f grub -n ‘Simple configuration’

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT=5
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=‘Netrunner’
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“quiet splash”
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=“atkdb.reset i8042.nomux quiet splash”

Uncomment to enable BadRAM filtering, modify to suit your needs

This works with Linux (no patch required) and with any kernel that obtains

the memory map information from GRUB (GNU Mach, kernel of FreeBSD …)
