After I applied fix from that post, I get " Failed to download http://ppa.launchpad.net/lexical/hwe-wireless/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/source/Sources
404 Not Found

Failed to download http://ppa.launchpad.net/lexical/hwe-wireless/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-amd64/Packages
404 Not Found

404 Not Found " when I try to update. Also my laptoip speakers don’t work, but my headphone jack does. I’ve tried reconfiguring to no avail. I am not sure if they are related. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you for stopping by.

Even with these constant tweaking issues,… I don’t miss Win7 a damn bit :slight_smile:

Yes, the launchpad links are not available. Did you check kmix and phonon in the systemsettings?

yes and the bars are moving, but no sound is coming out. I didn’t blow my speakers. This has happened a few times. It’s a laptop, and it seems this happens after I disconnect from my external monitor. The monitor doesn’t have speakers, but kmix and phono are asking to forget an HDMI something, I tell it no, and keep switching things around, go back to analog etc. oh, and i’m hooking up through VGA

Hmm, I always configure Pulse Audio in the multimedia section. Or in the systemsettings->Multimedia->Phonon->Audio Hardware.
