desktop crashes

I seem to get fairly frequent desktop crashes, particularly when usiing Firefox, Desktop recovers usually after a few seconds, but it is annoying.

I get the same problem with Netrunner 4, but nearly as frquently.

Any solutions.:huh:

Could this be a graphicscard/driver issue. Are you using proprietary drivers (nvidia / catalyst) ?
What about 3D Effects. Does this crash happens also when they are deactivated ?
Does this crash happen no matter on which site or is it related to sites with flash content or html5 videos ?

I am using the built in driver. i will try closing 3d effects.

Setting the compositor for OpengGL instead of the default xrender might fix this issue as well.

It was all ready on OpenGL 2 so I changed it to openGL 3, but it made no difference. I’ve changed it to xrender and we shall see how that works.

If samba Mounter (the one icon that allows you to add networks in the network directory of your home) isn’t working (btw. did you try that?) then you can always use the adressbar in the filemanager and enter smb://ip-adress-of-nas to open a connection to your NAS.esixsigma
