KDE 4.14 update coming to Netrunner?

Hello

Was wondering since KDE 4.14 promises some application fixes. Is it going to be made for Frontier 14 Kubuntu based?

http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.14/

We have it already.

For Netrunner Rolling all you needed to do is run the latest updates:

sudo pacman -Syyu

For Netrunner Standard you’ll need to enable the Kubuntu Backports PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade

Do I leave the Kubuntu backports ppa enabled after upgrading?

That would be up to you, this is where select software updates from the Kubuntu team will come from, just remember that Netrunner 14 is based on Kubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I’m aware that it is based on Kubuntu 14.04 LTS.

My question is whether I should let the PPA stay active after updating?
Will it mess with some elements of Netrunner? Like for instance install some packages which Netrunner didn’t intend for their distro?

I do system upgrades through “Muon Update Manager” only. Will this prevent it from messing up the packages?

It shouldn’t, I’ve never heard of anything from backports ever messing Netrunner up but you never know, if your don’t feel comfortable with it enabled than go ahead and disable it, you can always re-enable it later if needed.
