kontact segfaults

Hello,
I am experiencing kontact crashing when a new mail, or a mail forward is attempted. Replying to a mail works.

The application segfaults - report below for the attempt to create a new mail.

Any idea how to correct, please,

For others who may have the same problem

This is solved by updating kdepim to 15.08.3

JJ

Can you detail how you updated kdepim to 15.08.3? Did you use the Kubuntu ppa or some other method?
more info found here:
https://www.kubuntu.org/news/plasma-5-4-3-and-applications-15-08-3-for-kubuntu-15-10/

I would hesitate adding Kubuntu specific ppas to Netrunner without first asking about possible conflicts.

Apologies for not including the details.

In the absence of any reply to my post, I searched for similar experiences on the net.
Lots of bugs reported on this problem with fix using new version.

This suggested adding the Kubuntu Updates ppa which I did. I also was wary about adding a ppa, but as I use kontact all the time, it was worth the risk.

Seems to work all right though.

Thanks for replying. I have been plagued by the same bug so I think I might try adding the ppa and updating kdepim. It would be great to have kontact working again.

Let me know how it goes - always interested.
