I’m not a Firefox user, but I think some people are put off by the fact that it preloads to RAM automatically. Why not give an option on whether or not to load FF to RAM when it’s first started up? That could give people who want to save RAM a choice.
Netrunner only pre-loads FF, etc if you have 2 gigs of ram or more. You can always disable or remove the pre-load script from start up yourself (System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Autostart). If you want to free up even more ram you can also remove zramswap.
