trying to set a static ip
went to the network settings filled in all the settings
clicked ok and the settings went bye bye
did not save any thing
any tricks to solve this.
would be great

If it does not work for you ditching networkmanager and manually configuring /etc/network/interfaces might be a good solution.

trying to figure out if it was installed wrong or not completely
installed gnome-network manager
works great!
