Hi,
I am using Netrunner for about 3 months without any problems and prior my attempt to install NVIDIA ensured that Netrunner was fully updated.

sudo lspci | grep -i vga

I followed the instructions as per “starbuck” 3rd January 11:39

“To use the code, you open the terminal window with Yakuake (the blue icon on the right side of the default panel) and paste the code below:”
Code:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
Please note the comment displayed on the Yakuake screen at the end of the NVIDIA installation:-
“Loading new nvidia-current-304.88 DKMS files…

Building only for 3.2.0-43-generic

“Then restart the computer.”
The default Netrunner Splashscreen disappeared and is now “black” but it indicates “Netrunner” with 4-‘point indicators’ showing beneath.
“Open yakuake again and execute:”
Code:
nvidia x server settings
karl@karl-System-Product-Name:~$ nvidia x server settings
nvidia: command not found
In Settings ==> NVIDIA X Server Settings
“You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run nvidia-xconfig

Also (in the meantime ) the Muon Update Manager is prompting to install System Updates viz:
xserver-xorg-video-ati
libgl1-mesa-dri
libgl1-mesa-glx
libgl1-mesa-glx (i386)
libglapi-mesa
xserver-org-video-intel

xserver=xorg-video-radeon
When clicking on ‘Install Updates’:
“The following pieces of software cannot be authenticated…” viz:
libdrm-nouvau2
libllvm3.1
libgl1-mesa-dri
libgl1-mesa-glx
libgl1-mesa=glx
libglapi-mesa

xserver-xorg-video-intel
xserver-xorg-video-nouvau
I am stumped and request assistance to either rectify this situation or uninstall (remove completely) NVIDIA and reinstate the default driver.
And what to do with the updates currently offered.
Also the text displayed lost its ‘sharp’ edges is now blurry and when ‘mousing’ over a ‘button’ the mouse-pointer is on some buttons not visible anymore. TIA.
