NVIDIA driver

Hello,
I had a problem with Netrunner 16 and the recommended NVIDIA binary driver 340.96 for my graphics card NVIDIA GT216M (GeForce GT 240M). When I installed this driver instead of the X.Org driver right after BIOS finished starting I got the error message “kernel panic” and “cannot install root fs” and everything stopped. I only had the way to install Netrunner again. Is this bug fixed with Netrunner 17?

Sigurd

I think you could try this:

“sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa”

and after that:

“sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade”

It works wonderfully in Netrunner 17… But in my opinion you can solve the problem in Netrunner 16 too…

Bye

Hi Nicholas_01,
Yesterday I installed Netrunner 17. So I will try the NVIDIA driver again. Thank you.
