Poor results installing Netrunner 25

I have been trying to get Netrunner ISO 25 Desktop setup to write an install from Virtualbox on my SSD card, with shared USB as the feature. I got it to where I could enter the installed system through a “grub>” prompt, and then it accepted the same login/password as the setup had asked me during installation. I somehow through hours of tweaking found that the Xorg server would load, but all I get is the red mouse pointer and nothing proceeds to load. I get 1 shell, and I’ve been trying to get my Mediatek MT7925 Wi Fi 7 card to be listed with iwconfig, iw, etc. Which is a separate issue I need to work on.

Next up I’ll try VMWare and see if it installs it correctly.

I dont use VMs much but wouldnt it be easier to just do a direct install with the Netrunner 25 iso to the SSD and youre done. You can use the live session to check if everything will work as planned without issues beforehand. Its possible the Mediatek MT7925 may need a driver as 25 uses an older kernel and it may not be supported. Mediatek does workjas I have an older card that runs fine.

@kinesis, could you be more specific about what you’re trying to achieve? Your post does not make it clear. Are you trying to share a USB device from the host (which) with the guest?

I was very confused by this post and what he was trying to accomplish.
