resolution problem vaio all in one

I do not seem to have the correct resolution available for my screen, apparently it is 1680x1050 but the closest I can get is 1600x1024 which allows me to use the desktop, although it does not fit correctly. Have not attempted to create xorg.conf or anything as yet, fresh install.
The specs are Vaio VGC-JS1E with Intel GMAX 4500HD graphics.

Any help appreciated

Are you using the opensource or proprietary drivers?

I have a fresh install of windows 7 and trying to sort netrunner for dual boot. All Windows 7 updates applied. SO, in essence, the drivers are as is, I have not changed or added anything else. Not sure if this will be classed as proprietory or opensource.

Sorry, I just you have an Intel GMAX 4500HD (GM45), there are no proprietary drivers for Intel under Linux. Is your resolution problem just under Linux or both Operating Systems?

It is just under Linux, windows has no problems.
