[Resolved] Muon Updater error - failed to apply changes

As Muon Updater had not flagged any changes for a while I opened Muon package manager and found numerous items under Upgradable. I tried to apply them but got an error message - attached.
I applied a few separately, Firefox and VLC, both of which I use, and the updates worked.
Then Muon Updater popped up a flag, so I ran that, but got the error message again. The “Details” button shows nothing, just reverses its arrows.
I assume that one of the update items is causing a problem, but which?

Can you execute

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
In a terminal and see what it outputs. Maybe there is a more concrete error message that could help detecting were the problem is to find.

Ran that, no errors!
There was a [fail] associated with Virtualbox:

Setting up virtualbox (4.3.10-dfsg-1ubuntu3) …

  • Stopping VirtualBox kernel modules [ OK ]
  • Starting VirtualBox kernel modules * No suitable module for running kernel found
    [fail]
invoke-rc.d: initscript virtualbox, action “restart” failed.
    Setting up virtualbox-qt (4.3.10-dfsg-1ubuntu3) …
    Setting up virtualbox-dkms (4.3.10-dfsg-1ubuntu3) …
    Loading new virtualbox-4.3.10 DKMS files…

But that was all.

Whatever the problem was, it must lie within Muon.
I’ll see what happens next time.

Thanks.

NOOR

With Synaptic it worked for me.

This must have been a temporary glitch, as it has not persisted.
