Scanner not Working - Plus a Couple minor issues...

Printer works, but scanner does not. I have an HP Laser-jet Pro MFP m225dw. What do I need to do to get it working?

I found this about it… I tried figuring this out, but I don’t have the technical knowledge to fix it.

Also, why when setting the panel clock in prefs, can I no longer select a font?

When adding the comic widget to the panel and then configuring it… then clicking on ‘Get New Comics’, Nothing happens!
I tried it 3 separate times. Actually, even when I set any of the configurations, nothing sticks.

Hplip, hplip-gui and sane would be required, you would also need to install the binary plugin for that printer/scanner to work properly.

Hplip and sane are installed by default! I did install hplip-gui.

But ok, thanks!.. I got it working. Can you answer my other two questions?

Strange, Comic Strip is working under Netrunner Rolling:

I’ll check on my NR 16 install later tonight when I get home.

Changing the font is no longer implemented in the Plasma 5 digital clock widget.

Well, I know the font is no longer changeable… but want to know why?
A new gui comes out and offers less options. Hmmm… I wonder how that is Better?
I’ve also seen less options other paces, as well.

Technically font rendering and other things were completely rewritten.
Such features will come back definitely though I am not sure if all.
This is an unavoidable thing that one needs to pay in the name progress.

Can you elaborate a little bit more on that. Are configurations not saved at all for the plasma desktop or only for certain widgets/parts of the desktop ?

I re-installed Black Lab OS and it is working great for me! It’s the latest KDE before Plasma.

I will not switch back to Plasma. I do not like it at all.

Just use that what makes you happy.
KDE SC 4.x btw. calls its desktop also Plasma. To distinguish it to Plasma 5 it is called Plasma 4.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you will decide to at least test out new Plasma releases in the future to see if they are getting better for you or not. Till then Black Lab seems like a great choice, too, so hope to see you around!
