FYI… I had the same problem as Orbmiser with out-of-date flash eventhough the new version was installed.
The workaround in post #17 didn’t work for me (I even used ctrl-ESC and killed everything with firefox prior)
So I uninstalled and then re-installed the flashplugin (not lib32 one) using octopi.

That worked OK and now flash works.

The lib32-flashplugin is only required for 32 bit applications like wine and steam games, etc. so that’s not really required for firefox.
