(Solved) Maxthon Browser will not start

Hello Folks,

I’m new to this forum and of course to Netrunner Arch. Previously I have used Debian based Distros. No I would go for the fast Maxthon Browser. Netrunner install the Browser via AUR without any problems. So far so good. :smiley:

Now I will startup the Browser and the Terminal gives me the following error:

/usr/bin/maxthon: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkhotkey.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

These error is new to me because on Debian based Distros the Browser will work without any problems (tested on LinuxMint and Voyager). Did you have any ideas where the problem is?

OS type is Netrunner Arch with 0.8.10 base.

That is a dependency missing from the maxthon-browser pkgbuild, you’ll need to install gtkhotkey via octopi or sudo pacman -S gtkhotkey.

Personaly, I would install maxthon-browser-stable instead.

Here are the versions available from the AUR:

maxthon-browser 1.0.0.10-2
maxthon-browser-beta 1.0.5.0-1
maxthon-browser-stable 1.0.3.10-1
