[solved] Netrunner 19.01 Desktop Debian

#1

Is TimeShift an appropriate system-backup and restore tool under netrunner 19.01? TimeShift is using rsync as the underlying tool, is rsync reliable under netrunner 19.01? Thank you.

#2

I personally use BackInTime which also uses rsync to sync stuff. It works perfectly fine for me for years.
So yeah rsync should work just fine.

#3

Thank you for your friendly answer. You are using BackInTime too for backup and restoring the whole system?

#4

So far I only use BackInTime for backing up my important files in my home folder and not the entire system.
I can reinstall the system always. It is more important for me to back up my personal data not the whole OS.
Only once I had to restore stuff. The cool way about BackInTime and rsync is that you don’t have to use a special kind of fileformat or tool. As it is using rsync it will create exact copies of your files so you can easily partially restore stuff if you for example accidentally removed one important folder only

Thank you for your answer.
