Hi
So some of my downloads and Installs from the manager say they are added but do not show up on any search nor any menu on my new install. Very odd. Any thoughts?

If they show up as installed in synaptic you can click on them and see a list of installed files of that package. Maybe you can get a clue from there if those file exists or if there is a binary to execute
