Steam doesn't start

The first time i started Steam it was updating the Steam client, but
after the update, Steam didn’t start anymore.

I also tried the fix described in here: http://www.netrunner.com/readme-desktop-1706/

The tar archive containing the steam runtime seems to be broken. Search for steam-runtime.tar.xz in ~/.steam and it subfolders and delete that. You can also try deleting the whole .steam folder though that would remove your installed games and settings (if there are any)

I just deleted the steam-runtime.tar.xz file in .steam/ubuntu12_32/ and now
Steam is running as it should.
