System wont shutdown

Hi
I find that my new netrunner rolling install will not shut down.
I have a dual monitor setup; one monitor (the main one) turns off while the secondary turns black with a flashing underscore (_). No other hardware shuts down.
The system is a six core AMD 6350 chip, 8 gig ram on a Fatality mobo, 250 gig ssd, terrabyte disc drive, nvidia gtx760 graphics.
The system will not sleep or hibernate either, despite 30 gigs allocated to swap.
Any ideas would be appreciated, I’ve googled the crap out of this and come up dry!
:frowning:

Anything showing up as error message in dmesg or journalctl regarding this?

So here are some of the results of my first ever foray into dmesg; i must say i found it very interesting and informative.
I will make a visit to my bios and check a couple of things there… any tips you have will be most gratefully received!

Problem solved!
Hi Leszek, thank you for pointing me at dmesg, i did find the answer there. Enabling IOMMU in my motherboard sorted the problem; thank you for showing me the means of diagnosing it - i appreciate that manner of teaching you employ; encouraging self-reliance.

Cheers!

Not so fast… suspend and hibernation are working all right. But shutdown remains a sporadic issue no doubt related to truenames “slow system shutdown” thread. I will wait for ver 230 I reckon, with the fix for systemd.
