USB not recognized

I am new to Linux and just installed Netrunner 17.06
I am very much impressed with it except the USB ports and not recognized and that is hindering my use .I will not go to windows again.

My system is as follows

CPU: AMD 6300
motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970 A DS3P
DVD and Blue Ray burner(with no software)

I would appreciate your help in resolving my problem.

So nothing appears when you plug something in via usb?
Have you tried entering the command lsusb in a terminal to see if it lists any plugged in devices there?

yes and i can see at least 10 usb

So USB is recognized in general.
With which device do you have problems?
