The opendesktop.org sites like kde-look.org now offer an install button for plasmoids, icons, plasma themes, wallpapers, color-themes, cursors, conky-themes etc. - which uses xdg-url. Would be a nice addition to the default configuration of Netrunner IMHO.
Maui 1 is shipping xdgurl default.
